e-Learning: Network & Operating Systems Library
The only online course and reference library an IT professional will ever need
New Horizons offers the most complete library of online courses, reference, and practice labs for networking professionals. The library was created explicitly with network engineers, administrators, and technicians in mind. These professionals design and build computer networks that include one or more server technologies, interconnect computers and devices, create and maintain accounts, and provide ongoing administration for these systems. New Horizons Networking and Operating Systems library provides training for the dominant server and operating system technologies including Microsoft®, Novell, Linux, and Unix. Mainframe technologies like AS/400, still fundamental in certain industries, are also included. The library is suitable as a "Just-in-Time" reference to be used in high-pressure trouble shooting situations, as well as a formal training tool that accommodates various learning paths in the networking discipline. The integration of superior, interactive self-paced courses, popular online reference books, and live, virtual labs (vLabs®) is ideal both to support IT job functions and to prepare for industry recognized IT certifications - e.g., CompTIA® A+TM, Network+TM, Server+TM; Microsoft® MCSA® and MCSE®, Novell® CAN® and CNE® and many more.
Training, "Just-In-Time" reference, and practical lab exercises for the complete IT staff
This collection of courses, references, and practice labs covers the networking and operation systems technologies common in corporations today. The library is both broad and deep in its content - not only because it spans all of the dominant technologies - but also through the inclusion of many legacy OS versions as well as the latest releases. So training and support are available for the system configuration as it exists today - and when an upgrade is imminent - materials to support the new configuration are included and ready to be accessed. Typical Networking roles that are supported:
- Systems Engineer - Selects server and client technologies, designs secure networks, and manages network implementation. Industry-recognized credentials MCSE, CNE, and CompTIA's Security+ certify this role.
- Systems Administrator or Network Administrator - Adds, modifies, and deletes accounts and allocates access rights for network users, maintains systems and networks, and manages applications, upgrades, and network modifications. Industry-recognized credentials MCSA, CNA, and CompTIA's Security+ certify these roles.
- Technician or Help Desk Specialist- Installs networks, network devices, and server applications, troubleshoots network problems, and mans IT helpdesks. These roles are certified by various CompTIA credentials including A+, Network+, Server+ and Linux+TM.
