The library includes:
Managing Across Differences and Diversity
Based on the research of Mary C. Gentile, a pioneer in the area of diversity issues, managers will be guided on how to work and communicate across all forms of difference and will learn how and why diversity issues are tied to key business challenges. It features interactive case studies and resources, including twenty topical Harvard Business Review articles.
Managing Change
Based on the research and writings of five change strategists, managers will learn to analyze the organizational dynamics of change, choose the right strategies, balance, pace, and roll out change initiatives for bottom-line results.
Managing Difficult Conversations
Based on the research and writings of experts such as Chris Argyris and Peter Senge, managers will learn to; address difficult issues without resorting to finger pointing or “agreeing to disagree”, examine their own role in difficulties, take on accountability, and approach difficult conversations with confidence. Managers will create higher quality relationships and make better business decisions.
Negotiating for Results
Featuring articles by James K. Sebenius, Danny Ertel, Deborah M. Kolb, Michael Wheeler, and other negotiation experts, managers will learn techniques for approaching and productively handling negotiations. This program focuses on the groundwork, the negotiation, the relationships, and the follow-through.
Productive Business Dialogue
Based on the research and writings of experts such as Chris Argyris and Peter Senge, managers will improve the effectiveness of their communication by use of practical business dialogue. The most effective managers are those who can guide interpersonal interactions towards productive and actionable outcomes – ultimately achieving better results.
Realizing Change
Based on John Kotter’s book Leading Change, managers will enhance their effectiveness in embracing and leading successful change. Professor Kotter outlines each step involved in the process, the barriers, and techniques and strategies to help managers overcome the barriers.
Service Success
Featuring Harvard Business School Professor James L. Heskett and Assistant Professor Jeffrey Rayport, middle managers will develop and enhance their ability to manage service by learning to reduce employee turnover, increase the lifetime value of customers, and contribute to the organization's bottom line. The program introduces “The Service Profit Chain” – developing employee service capability – placing a strong emphasis on the impact a middle manager can have on improving service capability.
